Neglect

Its funny how you live your life have your experiences and meet people everyday. Every now and then you meet people who change your life. Molding you into becoming the person you are, weather good or bad. These special people leave such an impact on you they always have a place in your mind, body, and soul. What happens when you forget these people? Forget to call, forget to write, or forget to remember how special they were to you. Until one day 10, 11, 12, years later you find them. Is it scary? Scary knowing you've neglected that part of your history. You can only do one thing; struggle through the embarrassment and talk.

New Rule 4:1

“I would rather be worn down then rusted.” I heard this phrase a couple days ago from an Indian woman who devoted her life to helping people. This stuck with me and made me think which one applied to me. When you live, you move at your own pace; but are you really doing enough? Is there always more to do, more places to go, more people to meet? How much is enough to satisfy the feeling of not rusting. When do you stop searching? How old should you be when rusting becomes ok. Well let’s just say for me, I consume enough oil and fuel to keep my engine from rusting for many years to come.

New Rule 3.1

Schedules and predictability: are our lived solely built around schedules? It seems that every day we have to do something at this time; be here at this time. What would happen if we just stopped obeying the rules of following schedules? Spontaneity would graciously rule our lives. Doesn’t seem so bad; I would work when I want to, go to sleep when I’m tired, and have meetings when you feel like it. No one will be able to predict my next move and there will finally be freedom within the day to party like a rock star.

New Rule 2.1

How long does it take for someone to give up on things that they want? Now if you define the difference between want and need: want is obviously something you are able to live without, and need is something you need to live. Can someone really want something so much you feel you need it. What’s the deciding factor? Hmmm, I wonder maybe if you let it go for a while and if you stop thinking about it the urge should disappear.

New Rule 1:1

Let’s not forget to party. Don’t let the pressures and responsibility of the day make you forget that you have to live. Carpe diem is so cliché but in some sense necessary to keep you grounded. The best feeling in the world is running away and exploring new places, people and things; and never forgetting to SHAKE YOUR ASS!!
